Ostara is the Spring Equinox or a 1/4 day.
An equinox occurs twice a year, around 21st March and again around 22nd September., (Mabon). These are referred to as the Spring and Autumn equinox.
Ostara is at the point of perfect balance, day and night are of equal length and in perfect equilibrium - dark and light, masculine and feminine, inner and outer all in balance.
The Goddess Ostara has the shoulders and head of a hare.
Flowers relating to Ostara are Daffodils, primrose, violet, crocus, pussy willow and Celendine.
Colours are green, yellow and purples.
Altars are usually decorated with coloured eggs, seeds, feathers, spring flowers and ornaments of hares.
