Yuletide Herbs

We all know those smells we associate with Yule, spices, orange, frankincense and lots more, but what do they actually represent magically? Here are a few of the Yule herbs and what they can be used for.

Cinnamon - Use for Solar magic, so ideal for welcoming the sun back on the 22nd Dec. Supports meditation and astral projection. Increases spirituality, success, healing, protection, power,  luck, strength, and prosperity

Orange - Attracts abundance, luck.  Love and happiness and strengthens divination. Apart from all that it smells lovely when its out drying.

Mistletoe - Used for fertility, creativity and protection from negative spells & magic. Hang to kiss beneath and also promotes peace in the home.

Cloves - Use to protect, banish negative forces, and for divination.  Aids money and draws love towards you, so ideal when all the family are getting together and we might need a bit of extra support from family quarrels!!.

Frankincense - Use in solar magic, so like Cinnamon, ideal for Yule. Also associated with Beltane and Lammas. Use in rituals and magic associated with self-control, spirituality and protection.  It also regulates emotions and helps depression. Great for people who struggle with SADS.

Ginger - Increases magic power. Success, love, money and power.

Oak Leaf - Connected to the Oak King. It is the most sacred of all trees.  Oak supports success, good luck and healing. Stability and potency and attracts money and the return to light.

Holly - Connected to the Holly King who rules until the 21st Dec. Good luck herb, fertility, rebirth and protection against bad luck.

Make pomanders or charm bags to hang around the house or give as gifts to family and friends.
